The Arts & Science Council (ASC) is:
• The community’s chief advocate for arts, science, history and heritage
• A gatherer and steward of public and private community resources
• An investor of those resources in the cultural sector and community
• The strategic planner for the community’s cultural sector
• The public art agent for the City of Charlotte and Mecklenburg County
Education and participation in the arts, science and history are vital to the development of our children and our communities. ASC has funded the Kidz Summer Art Workshop Series for the past 3 years!

Foodbuy has two locations, Atlanta Ga. and Charlotte N.C. Atlanta is home to Foodbuy’s member development, member services, finance, technology, and operations teams.
Based in Charlotte, the contracting team is responsible for negotiating supplier/manufacturing agreements and purchasing contracts. Category managers oversee RFP’s (Request for Proposals) and purchasing functions. The category managers approve all product pricing and purchases in the following categories: poultry, fresh produce, frozen food products, fresh and frozen meat, candy and snacks, dairy and bakery, dry goods, disposables and beverages. In addition, there are category managers who negotiate non-food programs including cell phones, fleet cars, office supplies, and more.

Historic Landmarks Commission
The Commission was created in July 1973 by joint action of the Charlotte City Council and the Mecklenburg County Board of Commissioners. The Commission derives all of its powers from State Enabling Legislation. The fundamental purpose of the Commission is to recommend the designation of properties (real and personal) for historic landmark designation and to secure the preservation of same through exercising design review and through buying and selling endangered historic landmarks.
