Han Cashion is a
Korean-born painter whose richly colored abstract works reflect Nature and the
inner strength of spirituality.
Journey Home is a series of oil painting on 8.5”x11” paper, created in 2007, and re-worked in 2009. The “Journey Home” depicts a spiritual voyage of healing -- one that taught me to awaken to my true nature, and to see the beauty and love residing beyond and yet within all things. The journey took long years, a great deal of struggle and an ongoing, life-changing search of my own soul. In particular, six years ago, a cleansing process taught in a meditation center in Korea helped me unpack heavy emotional baggage I had carried all my life. As my spiritual awareness grew, and uplifted by a loving relationship with my companion dogs, I learned much more about how to extend true love and compassion to all beings – and, at last, to myself. These images convey that I am not alone in my spiritual quest. Love and support found me from all directions, unbidden. We are here to be a unique expression of God, and to love and honor one another as we share the Earthly garden of delights given to us all -- humans, animals, plants, minerals and beyond. You will see that spiritual journey reflected in my paintings, in the frequent appearance of interrelationships among Nature and people.
I hope my paintings bring you much joy, love and peace. http://www.hancashion.com
Kathy Oda is a glassist, creating sculptural and functional art by kiln-firing glass. Kathy started exploring her inner artist in the early 90’s and finally settled on glass as her medium in the late 90’s. Kathy dreams in color, patterns, and symbols and these dreams actively drive her designs. Her new series, “Elemental Movement”, was born out of her love of nature whether it’s a fiery sunset or soothing waves or a contemplative night sky.

“Serenity” Kiln-formed Glass 19” x18 ½” Kathy Oda
“Serenity” was inspired by a dream I had around Christmas of 2009, says Kathy. As you can imagine, it was cold and gray outside and all I could think of was the calm, soothing waters of the Caribbean. Then on the last day of 2009, I started to assemble the piece and it took on a life of its own. The colors and shapes flowed together as I layered and built “Serenity”. Interestingly enough, the symbols that I chose for this piece were predominantly about peace, harmony & enlightenment. Under the light of the blue moon, “Serenity” emerged as the first creation of 2010 and the first piece of my new series “Elemental Movement”.
The Coyote
Each coyote is hand
sculpted & Raku fired by the artist, with each being a one of a kind piece. "I am inspired by the southwest and its spiritual folklore. The coyote is a mischievous, cultural
figure, howling its song, wrecking havoc, playing tricks, bestowing gifts of
fire, light and fun. According to
folklore, he can speak to humans about their strengths and foolishness, while poking
a little fun at us.”
Each coyote
has a name and a story. Each figure comes with a book of “Coyote Stories” that Lambeth has written. The story teller in the book is the Grandmother Coyote who
gathers up the
pups to share the tales of the Coyotes. She is the most
respected of the Coyotes. "I create the stories of the coyotes as I create each piece. They are anywhere
from 12"-16”, and are such
fun." “Laugh with your coyotes”.
