Five Week Kids Summer Dance Classes

Mondays:   4:00 - 4:45 Jazz/ Hip Hop 7- 9 yrs.

4: 45 - 5:45 Jazz/Hip Hop 10 yrs +

Jazz/ Hip Hop will provide a structured class with emphasis on the development of rhythmic movement, isolations and across the floor combinations based on jazz technique. Each class will provide a warm up and choreography set to popular and age appropriate music. It is a fun environment to learn a form of dance and be creatively expressive.
　
Wednesdays: 3.30 - 4.00pm Ballet (ages 3 - 5)
 4.00 - 4.45pm Ballet (ages 5 - 7)
 
Classical Ballet taught using the Royal Academy of Dance method. Each class will include age appropriate exercises as well as the chance for children to explore their imagination through music and dance.
　
Teachers:
Amanda Sheppard - Born in London, England, Amanda began taking ballet at the age of 2 ½ years old. At age 11, she attended full time vocational ballet school. After dancing professionally, Amanda decided to train as a classical ballet teacher. She holds the Royal Academy of Dance Teaching Diploma. She taught in several schools in England before moving to the USA. Amanda has been teaching for over 26 years and has seen many of her students go on to dance professionally or attend college on a dance scholarship. She is currently Director of Dance at the Matthews Community Center. Amanda has choreographed many story ballets and has produced The Nutcracker for the past 13 year, which is now an annual holiday event in Matthews.
 
　
Tammy Fox - teaches Jazz, Hip Hop and Modern Dance. She is from New York where she studied at Broadway Dance Center and Dancespace Studios. Tammy received her degree from UNCG. She is the Director and choreographer for Revelations Dance Theatre. Tammy teaches at the Matthews Community Center, Providence Day School and is a Teaching Artist for the Blumenthal Performing Arts Center. Her choreography is well known and highly regarded in the Charlotte area.

MONDAYS - JULY 12, 19, 26 & AUGUST 2, 9
WEDNESDAYS - JULY 14, 21, 28 & AUGUST 4, 11
 
　
5 WEEK TUITION:
30 MINUTES - $50 (for all 5 weeks)
45 MINUTES - $60 (for all 5 weeks)
1 HOUR - $65 (for all 5 weeks)
