Learn the techniques and application of oil paint together with a greater understanding of color theory, paint application, color value, space, color interaction, intensity and temperature in a creative atmosphere for both the novice and the professional artist.

Students develop the ability to make informed decisions on content and compositional relationships, to generate creative ideas and painterly approaches to successfully describe objects using proportion, visual analysis and value.  By the end of a few classes students know how to paint their own paintings, develop their own subject matter and composition and begin to understand color including Hue, Value, Chroma, Analogous Colors, Complements, Warm and Cool palettes.

Wednesday-Thursday: Instructional classes

Students are encouraged to bring their own canvas (smaller canvases are available for purchase for $5 each).  All other materials are provided.

No experience is necessary-all skill levels are welcome!
